Why is Apitherapy an actual complementary method ?

Apitherapy is the use of bee products for the prevention and treatment of diseases. It is an extremely old therapeutic method, connected to the beginnings of the existence of man on Earth and is successfully used nowadays, too. There is a very valuable tradition of using bee products in the Carpathians-Danube space, which deserves to be studied and used in our days. The most used bee products in therapy are: honey, propolis, royal jelly, pollen, bee poison and wax.
Honey is a food-medicine, with multiple uses in diseases of the digestiv system (hepatitis, hepatic insufficiency), nutrition diseases, cardiac diseases (cardiac insufficiency), nervous diseases (insomnia), aso. This product is also used  in a series of dermatological diseases and in cosmetics.

Propolis has an extremely complex chemical composition (bioflavonoids, microelements) ,which confers it different therapeutic effects, like: anti-microbial, anti-viral, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, cicatrizating, aso), and this makes the products that are obtained form propolis (tincture, extract, ointment, tablets, etc.) to have very large therapeutic applications in a series of diseases and also have a preventive role by the stimulation of the immunity of the human body.
Royal jelly and pollen ,taken from bees are products of very high nutritive values, which make them  useful in a series of nutritional diseases, convalescence, sexual impotency, aso.
Bee poison was used for the treatment of different forms of rheumatism, but due to the very high allergic potential it has been rarely used today in therapeutics.
Bee wax was used for the preparation of some cosmetic products and finds its applicability in the IIIrd millennium in this sector, too.
Bee products can successfully associate one with another (for example honey with propolis and royal jelly), and apitherapy can be associated with other complementary methods, such as: phytotherapy, aromatherapy, dietotherapy, aso.
